Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 5 November 2026

The short version
  • Voxly is free to use for personal and work dictation, within fair daily limits.
  • You own what you dictate. You are responsible for what you paste and send.
  • AI corrections can be wrong. Read important messages before sending them.
  • Voxly is provided "as is", and features may change.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Voxly app for Windows, the Voxly Cloud service, and this website (together, "Voxly"). By downloading, installing or using Voxly, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Voxly for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it. If you don't agree, please don't use Voxly.

2. Your licence to use Voxly

We give you a personal, free, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Voxly on Windows computers you own or control, for personal or work purposes. You may not:

Voxly includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licences.

3. Your account

Some features, including Voxly Cloud, need an account. Please give accurate details, keep your password secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to create one.

4. Voxly Cloud and fair use

Voxly Cloud provides online speech recognition and AI correction at no charge. To keep it fast and available for everyone, each account has daily limits on audio minutes and corrections. When you reach a limit, Voxly will use the engines on your PC until the next day. We may change these limits, or suspend accounts that misuse the service. Voxly Cloud needs an internet connection and may sometimes be unavailable.

If you use your own Groq or Gemini API key, your use of that provider is under your own account and its terms, and any charges from that provider are yours.

5. Your content

You own the words you dictate and the text Voxly produces for you ("your content"). You give us only the permission needed to process your content to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models.

Make sure you have the right to use any content you process with Voxly, including Slack exports or other messages you import, and that doing so follows your employer's policies.

6. AI output and accuracy

Speech recognition and AI correction are good but not perfect. Voxly may mishear words, change wording, or make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing text before you send, publish or rely on it, especially for emails, legal, medical, financial or safety-related content. Voxly is not a substitute for professional advice.

7. Acceptable use

Please don't use Voxly to:

8. Third-party services

Voxly works with services run by others, such as Groq, Supabase, Google, GitHub and Hugging Face, and pastes text into apps made by others. We are not responsible for those services or apps, and your use of them is under their own terms.

9. Updates and changes

Voxly updates itself to fix problems and add improvements. We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering Voxly or Voxly Cloud. We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Voxly after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Ownership

Voxly, its name, logo, design and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't give you any rights to our brand. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. No warranty

Voxly is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that Voxly will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every app or device. Some countries don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of this may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, business or goodwill, arising from your use of Voxly. Our total liability for any claim related to Voxly is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Voxly in the 12 months before the claim (which for a free service is zero) or USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country.

13. Ending these terms

You can stop using Voxly at any time by uninstalling it, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or misuse Voxly Cloud. Sections 5, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 14 continue to apply after these Terms end.

14. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Voxly. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganisation or sale of Voxly.

Questions about these Terms: please email the Voxly team (our support address will be listed here shortly).
